About mJay
Michelle Jacoby is a writer and editor in the Phoenix metropolitan area with more than 15 years experience in the publishing industry. Before founding mJay Ink, Michelle was the editor of AZ, a Valley lifestyle magazine, and 85255, a north Scottsdale community publication. She has been involved with the development and launch of several magazines including Camelback, Arrowhead Life and Chandler Life, community lifestyle publications produced by Republic Magazines, The Arizona RepublicŐs magazine division.Michelle has written features on home, design, fashion, travel and dining. She has extensive experience in custom and niche publishing, serving as a project editor for The Arizona Republic's Custom Publishing Group for 5 years. Her projects include AZ Style, Phoenix Open Guide, Arizona Daytrips, At Home Week and New Homes Arizona.
Michelle's writing and editing skills go beyond putting pen to paper. She has lent her services to a number of nonprofit organizations throughout the Valley including Florence Crittenton's Teaming Up for Kids Luncheon; the 2008 Oscar Night America gala benefitting the Arthritis Foundation; and the 2008 Key to the Cure "Project Pink" benefitting the American Cancer Society.
Michelle has also been a guest speaker at the annual publicity summit hosted by the Valley of the Sun, Society of Professional Journalists, and judged the New England Press AssociationŐs 2007 Better Newspaper Contest in the niche publication category. In recognition of her work, Michelle has received awards from the Arizona Press Club and the Arizona Newspaper Association.
